Whether it be for days when you know you’ll be out and about most of the day, or you forget the electrical cord at home or there’s a power outage, it’s always recommended and nice to have a back up breast pump that carries a charge or simply doesn’t require electricity.

Somewhere to keep baby safe and entertained while you pump
If you’ve ever pumped while taking care of a baby you’re probably familiar with having them get tangled up in your pump’s tubing and messing with your breast pump’s suction, sometimes even forcing you to cut your pump time short. Having a place to put the baby down safely and keep them entertained while you pump makes pumping a lot less stressful, especially as they get older and require more stimuli.
For that check out Amazon’s discounts on baby gyms, baby bouncers and activity centers. They come at all price points and designs, from minimal to colorful, so you are bound to find something that both you and your baby can enjoy. Better yet, most of them already feature discounts for Prime Day.
All the pumping gear you’ve been meaning to buy and haven’t
Let’s face it, as millennial moms we splurge on our children and sometimes leave some of the items we really want for later because we want to be mindful of our household budgets. Here’s a list of things pumping gear I didn’t regret buying as part of my pumping journey and I’m sure you won’t either.
Burp cloths; because breasts leak, babies spit up and sometimes you’ll spill some (or a lot) of your pumped milk and having a soft muslins burp cloth on hand makes cleaning up a lot easier.
Breastfeeding friendly bottles; trust your lactation consultant on which bottles are best for your baby. ComoTomo bottles, Dr. Brown’s- if they have an Amazon Store, they will likely feature discounts for Prime Day so seek them out and stock up on your baby’s favorite bottles.
Remember that pumping moms also need to take care of their nipples. There’s a learning curve to both breastfeeding and pumping, and both can result in sore and cracked nipples. Beaugen cushions are great for elastic nipples or simply to keep your nipples from rubbing against your flanges. They come in sizes, so make sure you get the right size for your flanges. Likewise, Lavie Silver Cups will also be available for Prime Day and they can really help heal your nipples more quickly. Those are already 20% off on Amazon.
A pumping bag that fits everything. If you are a mom on-the-go having a pumping bag in which you can pre-pack everything you’ll need for a day of pumping outside your home the night before will give you peace of mind and make your day a lot less stressful. Amazon has great options, some of which will even fit larger pumps, like the Spectra S1 and S2, without breaking the bank.
Finally, as many pumping moms are well aware, pumping requires a seemingly endless amount of washing and cleaning of pump parts and bottles. Having a separate wash basin for all your pump parts and baby’s bottles is not only recommended by the CDC, but it’s also key to keeping them from getting contaminated with harmful bacteria. You can also find great easy to use pump parts and bottle sterilizers on Amazon that fit your lifestyle and keep everything perfectly clean and safe for you and your baby.
